replaced a thermostat on a Lennox heat pump system

found a freon leak in a Carrier heat pump system

carrier split heat pump, whole house system, 2 zones. tested system at arrival. found that it seemed the system. was overcharged with refrigerant, and causing excessive moisture in the air handler leading to it leaking. adjusted the charge slightly and got superheat with the range the unit called for. temperatures coming out of the system were extremely good, and system is now running as it should.

cleared a drain line on a Carrier system

upstairs carrier split ac. found a failed txv causing the refrigerant to not flow properly through the system. will have to replace. quoted for repairs and for system replacement

Coleman split heat pump. downstairs system. found that the txv valve in the air handler in crawlspace is defective and will not allow for the proper flow of refrigerant. will have to replace the txv. also found that the drain line is partially clogged and running uphill. will need to clear and correct the drain line. submit to AHS for authorization of repairs.

appointment scheduled for today 12-430. arrived at 12:45 and rang the door bell and knocked two different times. waited for 20 mins and no answer at the door. will have to reschedule.

returned and replaced the condenser fan blade. system was running. at arrival so I was able to see it run with the new blade, and the vibration that was the complaint is now gone. job complete

downstairs, 1st floor Bryant split heat pump. 3 zones. condenser is shaking and vibrating loudly, and causing the noisea that disturbed customer especially at night while sleeping. found that the condenser fan blade is out of balance causing the vibration. will need to replace the fan blade and motor. will submit to AHS for authorization of repairs. due to the age and conditions all options should be explored

Returned and replaced the blower control relay. Tested operation and the the system is now up and running as it should. Refrigerant levels are great.

Trane split heat pump, whole house system. Tested at arrival and found multiple issues: The thermostat is faulty and will not send the signal for the AC to run properly. When set to AC, the system still runs in heat mode. Bypassed the thermostat and AC will run normal, verifying that the stat is bad. Once running, found that the compressor valves are failing. The compressor is running but is not pumping the refrigerant properly, this causing low cooling during warmer temps.

Trane package heat pump. Whole house system. At arrival, customer stated that at times it would work well, but then at other times it didn't work at all. Tested system. At first they, unit came right on and ran perfect. Everything was working well. After a few minutes, found that the blower motor would stop running. Found that the blower control relay is faulty. If moved just right, the blower would start again. Will need to order the the blower time delay relay and return to replace.

Goodman AC and coil. Whole house system. At arrival, found that the compressor was not starting, causing no cooling. Found that the run terminal/wire had burnt in half. Repaired the connection and wire. Added a hard start as well to help the compressor start better. System is now running very well and is cooling great.

Trane heat pump package unit, whole house system. Tested system at arrival. Found that the unit would start, but after a few mins it would start shutting off and back on repeatedly. Found reason for this failure to be due to a low voltage short. Repaired the short and unit now stays on as it should. After running it, found system to be low in refrigerant causing low cooling. Filled system with refrigerant and leak seal and system is now cooling very well.

Goodman split heat pump. Tested system at arrival. Unit started up and was running ok. Tested the refrigerant levels, temperature split and all functions and everything is running ok at this time.

One system whole house. Split heat pump. Carrier. Replaced capacitor and tested operation. System is now running and cooling as it should. Did notice and point out that the condenser coil and the evaporator coil are dirty and both need to be cleaned. As they are, the unit is suffering from lack of airflow flow and decrease the efficiency of the system. Quoted to clean both coils or to sign up for a HVAC Protection Pledge to clean and maintain the system twice a year.

Trane split heat pump, whole house 2 zones. Found system low on refrigerant. Leak searched and found that the evaporator coil is leaking and will have to be replaced. Submitted for authorization of repairs
